Kosovo Approves National Digital Competence Framework for Teachers

We are pleased to share that the Ministry of Education and Science has officially approved the Digital Competence Framework for Teachers in Kosovo which is deliverable from our project. This framework represents an important step toward strengthening teachers’ digital competences to meet the demands of the 21st century, as also foreseen in the Education Strategy.

 

Developed in alignment with the European #DigCompEdu standards and international best practices, this framework establishes a clear structure for the development of teachers’ #digitalcompetences, supporting the pedagogical and effective integration of technology in teaching and learning.

 

Main areas of the framework:

 Area 1: Professional Engagement – Use of digital technologies for communication, collaboration, and professional development.

 Area 2: Digital Infrastructure and Institutional Support

 Area 3: Professional Development and Digital Competences

 Area 4: Creation and Management of Digital Content

 Area 5: Digital Safety, Ethics, and Responsible Use

 Area 6: Emerging Technologies and Future Readiness

 Area 7: Empowering Learners through inclusive and accessible digital technologies, fostering students’ digital and AI competences

 

This framework aims to harmonize initial teacher education, continuous professional development, and teaching practices within a unified national approach, establishing measurable standards for digital progress and performance.

 

With this development, Kosovo strengthens its commitment to a modern, innovative, and sustainable education system, in line with the principles of #DigCompEdu and the broader digital transformation of education.
