In line with scheduled activities of the TKAEDiTE project, the Workshop on the Concept of Open Learning Resource (OLR), organized by the University for Business and Technology (UBT), is being held.

The event was officially opened by UBT Rector, Professor Edmond Hajrizi.

Key presentations followed, with insights from prominent figures such as Atif Basani from KREN (Kosovo) and professors Nelda Kote and Romina Muka from UPT (Albania), who provided updates on OLR efforts at the national and research levels in Kosovo and Albania.

The Kosovo Research and Education Network (KREN) aims to provide comprehensive support to educational institutions by delivering key services, infrastructure, and applications. KREN’s cloud infrastructure includes a hybrid system powered by Azure Stack HUB, with 16 server nodes and scalable storage and CPU capacities. In 2023, the VMware infrastructure was upgraded with additional hardware resources, ensuring high availability, seamless integration with Microsoft Azure, and robust data security.

Next, the workshop shifted its focus to the international OLR landscape, with presentations by Professor Yari Laru from the University of Oulu (Finland), Professor Ali Shariq Imran from NTNU (Norway), and Professor Fisnik Dalipi from Linnaeus University (Sweden). This session highlighted global best practices and the broader OLR context, culminating in the unveiling of the first draft version of Kosovo’s OLR by Veprim Morina.

In the second half of the workshop, participants will engage in interactive sessions focused on key phases of OLR development. These discussions, complemented by group work, aimed at refining and conceptualizing Kosovo’s OLR, fostering collaboration and generating actionable insights for the project’s future
