The Workshop for Establishing Syllabuses and Updating Existing Ones of ICT Subjects in Pre-University Classes” will be a significant event held at the Faculty of Education in Prishtina on June 27, 2024.
Organized by Oulu, the workshop will bring together educators and ICT professionals to collaborate on enhancing the ICT curriculum in pre-university education.
Representatives from the University of Prishtina (UP), University of Haxhi Zeka (UHU), and University for Business and Technology (UBT) will present the ICT learning path currently implemented in Kosovo. This presentation will highlight the strengths and areas for improvement in the existing curriculum.
Following the Kosovo presentation, representatives from the University of Tirana (UT) and Polytechnic University of Tirana (UPT) will present the Albanian ICT learning path. This session will provide insights into the ICT educational strategies employed in Albania.
The session will then move to an international perspective with representatives from Oulu presenting the Finnish ICT learning path. Finland’s well-regarded approach to ICT education will serve as an inspiring model for potential curriculum enhancements.
Participants will be divided into groups to study a shared document focused on ICT competences. This document will serve as a basis for understanding and comparing the ICT learning paths of different regions.
After lunch, the workshop will resume with a session led by Oulu on matchmaking the ICT competences of Kosovo and Albania with those of EU partner countries. This collaborative effort will aim to align the ICT education standards with broader European practices.
The groups will reconvene to present their findings and work output. This session will allow for the sharing of insights and recommendations for improving the ICT curriculum.
The first day of the workshop will conclude with closing remarks from the organizers, summarizing the day’s accomplishments and setting the agenda for the following sessions
